This work demonstrated the potential of milk-derived cationic-motif-modified exosomes for mRNA delivery to photoreceptors in the retina via the topical route. Exo-CPC has the potential for targeting several ocular tissues via the topical route by taking advantage of GAG and water content for delivery of anti-inflammatory small molecule drugs and gene-based therapeutics and can be applied in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, or glaucoma. The paper is published in Journal of Materials Chemistry B and can be accessed [HERE]!
