Our new book chapter, led by Helna, explores the role of extracellular vesicles (EVs) in biological membrane trafficking and discusses their inherent limitations. The chapter further presents engineering design principles and state-of-the-art surface modification strategies aimed at enhancing EV targeting and overcoming physiological barriers to enable more effective therapeutics, while also highlighting current challenges in the field. This work has been published as Chapter 33 in the book Harnessing Endogenous Mechanisms for Targeted Drug Delivery. The chapter is now available online, read it [HERE]!
